Meet Dr. Kari Borgen

I love being an orthodontist. Making a positive difference in peoples’ lives is unbelievably rewarding. Smiles build confidence and change lives. It is a privilege to provide orthodontic care to our patients and be a part of their remarkable transformations. I truly have the best job in the world!

Every patient is an individual, and orthodontics is about bringing out the best in each individual. It is my responsibility as an orthodontist to use the best knowledge, tools, and techniques to turn each patient’s smile into a work of art. I strive to provide personalized, quality, and compassionate care to each and every patient while creating beautiful, healthy smiles for life.

Education

I am committed to lifelong learning. My education began at Lewis & Clark College, where I earned my bachelor’s degree in biochemistry. I continued on to Oregon Health & Sciences University, where I graduated first in my class with a Doctorate of Dental Medicine. My orthodontic residency and Master of Science in orthodontics were also obtained at OHSU.

Orthodontics, like life, is a learning process, and continuing education is vital to upholding the quality standards of our profession. I am dedicated to staying current on the scientific research and developments in all areas of my field, to provide my patients with the best possible care. Visit me on Google+!

In the Orthodontic Community

I am a member of professional associations that offer numerous opportunities for continuing education. I have also served as the Northern Regional Program Chair for the Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists, and selected speakers for our regional continuing education meetings.

In the Office

I pride myself in the quality of care I provide, and that begins with having a great team. I am blessed to have an amazing staff that shares my passion for patient care. From the front office to the clinic, each person is trained and committed to help in giving our patients the best possible orthodontic experience. We all work hard to give our patients the attention they deserve.

Family Life

I am married to my best friend, Dr. Ryan Hughes, who is a pediatric dentist in the Lake Oswego area. We have two beautiful sons, Hudson and Bennett, who are the loves of our lives. We look forward to raising our boys in such a wonderful community. Ryan and I spend our free time enjoying all the Northwest has to offer, including snowshoeing, skiing, boarding, hiking, biking, and eating amazing food. We also enjoy competing in running events and triathlons throughout the year, except on Saturdays during college football season!
